Garima began her career as a journalist in just six months. Then she stepped into Culinary arts and took her cooking skills to the next level. After she completed her diploma from Le Cordon Blue in 2010 then she did her internship as a legendary chef at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant in Dubai.
She learned the work under the guidance of Rene Redzepi at Noma, Copenhagen (One of the world’s finest restaurants). During an interview, she talked about Rene and said “He changed the way I am as a person and not just as a cook. Working with him you understand that being a cook is an intellectual pursuit.”
In 2015, the famous chef Garima Arora moved to Bangkok and worked at Gaggan as a sous chef with Gaggan Anand, an Indian chef. After that, she opened her restaurant “Gaa” in Bangkok, Thailand in 2017. Both restaurants serve several dishes in a new fusion of Indian and Thai cuisine. This restaurant was named on her own name Garima’s First and last alphabets “GAA”. She opened her new restaurant Banng in partnership with restaurateur Riyaaz Amlani at Gurugram’s upscale Two Horizon Centre. On its opening day, she said “I always wanted to open a Thai restaurant in India. I knew Indians would love the flavors — it’s very similar to the sweet-sour-spicy-umami in chaat”. And Riyaaz said “It is a micro-city with a cosmopolitan vibe. People from all walks of life stay here and everyone’s come from somewhere — that’s what gives Gurugram a pioneering spirit.’’
